Because we use different fabic weights in our quilt shells some colors may not be available in all weights.  Due to the durability of the fabrics we do not recomend the .49 Argon as an outer shell material.

 Due to the differences between fill power and shell fabrics our  quilts have varying weights dependant on those factors. to give a general idea of a 1000FP quilt the current average weights pre-suspension are:

40° - 12-14oz

20° - 17-19oz

0° - 21-24oz

We do expect these weights to change slightly as we adjust for our new standard 20% overstuff vs the previous 10% overstuff 

Due to the nature of Unicorn Fur and our premium fabrics, special care needs to be taken with your new Ethereal Quilt. 

 

• ALWAYS store your quilt uncompressed. 

 

• Hanging is great, just be sure to check for burrs on your hanging apparatus first 

• Use the enclosed mesh bag for storage on a shelf

 

• Unicorns are magical and free ranging. This means that their fur will migrate inside of the individual baffles as well (yay magic!). 

 

• Needing to redistribute your fur is normal 

• Feel free to lightly brush the fur back towards the locations that it’s desired to be in. 

 

• Unicorn Fur is ultra-compressible and compressing your Ethereal quilts for transport, i.e. backpacking, is suggested. This will also help ensure that your quilts are protected from snags and punctures within your pack. Ethereal quilts are so fluffy, we've found it's actually easier to pack while in a compression sack - Unicorns are known for escaping back into the wild.

 

• When decompressing the quilt, shake it gently to accelerate the lofting of the fur. 

• Topquilts are to be shaken from head or foot end. 

• Underquilts are to be shaken from the sides.

• Booty shaking while lofting your quilt is recommended and a lot of fun, although optional.

 

• Ethereal quilts are magical and in some cases need to be treated that way:

 

• Front load washing machine is recommended

• Use of a down specific wash, i.e. Grangers, ONLY

• Make sure to clean your washer of any detergent residue before washing your quilt

• Loosen all draw cords and pop all KAM snaps

• Tumble dry on low NO HEAT with Down Specific dryer balls. Unicorns avoid heat; you should, too.

 

• Personal Hygiene

 

• Please treat this silky material with care and keep your toenails and fingernails trimmed (but don't do it while you're in the quilt!)

• Personal body sweat and oils will, over time, cause the quilt to lose their loft and not insulate as well

 

• Site Selection

 

• Unicorns don’t like to sleep in the mud. Neither does your quilt. 

• Take extra care to check for objects that will poke your quilts

• YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE THE RESULTS OF AN OVER-POKED UNICORN. It gets quite messy!

 

• Fur Shedding (Down Loss)

 

• From time to time some fur shed is expected and completely normal. 

• Actually the mostly likely pieces of fur to be shed are the undesired feathers and not the actual 1000FP+ down. 

• Please attempt to MASSAGE the fur gently back into the quilt when possible. While the feathers poking through are less desirable, pulling them out can lead to even more shedding.
